Terms of Use

Last updated October 21, 2026

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Church Cloud Technologies LLC (“Church Cloud,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), the operator of the Sacred application and the getsacred.app website (together, the “Service”). They also serve as the end user license agreement (the “EULA”) for the Sacred app (the “App”). Please read them carefully, together with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of another person or an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for them.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. The Service is intended for a general, faith-interested audience and is not directed to children under 13.

3. The Service

Sacred is a Christian hymnal and devotional application. It provides a library of hymns to read, search, play, and favorite; prayer tools, including prayer requests, timed prayer sessions, a daily verse, and the optional “Prayer Gate” feature; a private diary/journal; and personal notes. The Service is offered in a free version and a paid subscription, Sacred Premium; some hymnal collections are free, some are available only with Premium, and some are offered as one-time purchases. The App works offline on your device; syncing your library across devices is a Premium feature. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

4. License to use the App

Subject to these Terms, Church Cloud grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to download and use the App on a device that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial devotional use. On Apple devices this license is further governed by the Apple-specific terms in Section 18. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Church Cloud and its licensors.

5. License restrictions

You agree that you will not, and will not permit anyone else to:

  • copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the App or its content except as expressly permitted;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the limited extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with security, digital rights management, content protection, rate limits, device checks, or entitlement verification;
  • extract, scrape, harvest, sublicense, sell, rent, redistribute, publicly perform, or publish hymn content or other Service content, except as expressly allowed in the App;
  • use the Service to build or train a competing product or service, or to develop a similar dataset;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices;
  • access the Service through automated means (bots, scrapers) except as we expressly permit; or
  • use the Service in any unlawful manner or in violation of these Terms.

6. Your account

You can use much of the App on your device without an account. If you create one, you must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and you are responsible for activity under your account. Do not share your account or use someone else’s. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is being used unlawfully or to harm others.

7. Sacred Premium, subscriptions, and purchases

Sacred Premium is an auto-renewing subscription offered with a monthly or a yearly term. Some hymnals are sold as one-time purchases. All purchases are made through, and billed by, your Apple App Store or Google Play account; we never receive your card or bank details.

  • Price and term. The price and billing period of each plan, and any free trial or introductory offer you are eligible for, are shown clearly in the App before you confirm the purchase. Prices may vary by country and currency.
  • Auto-renewal. A subscription renews automatically for the same term at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your store account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Free trials and introductory offers. When a plan includes a free trial or introductory price, the regular price applies automatically when that period ends unless you cancel beforehand. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription that includes it.
  • Managing and cancelling. You manage and cancel in your store account (App Store: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Google Play: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions). Deleting the App or your Sacred account does not cancel a subscription. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Changing plans. You may switch between monthly and yearly in the App or your store settings; the store applies its own proration rules.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store under its policies; we cannot directly refund store purchases. If the store refunds or revokes a purchase, the related access ends. Nothing here limits any non-waivable refund or withdrawal rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
  • Entitlement. A subscription or purchase is linked to the Sacred account signed in when it was verified and can be restored on that account’s devices. A receipt cannot be transferred to a different account.
  • Price changes. We may change prices with notice; a change applies to a renewal only after you have been notified and, where the store requires it, have agreed to it.

8. Advertising

The free version of Sacred shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use a device advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. Where consent is legally required, we ask for your choice before showing personalized ads, and you can change it later in the App under Settings → Privacy. Subscribing to Sacred Premium removes ads. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the sites they link to. See the Privacy Policy for details.

9. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in the App — your notes, journal entries, prayers, personal hymn edits, tags, and favorites (“Your Content”). Your Content is stored on your device and, if you have Premium, synced to your account. You grant Church Cloud a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, back up, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate the sync and provide the Service to you — not to publish or promote it. You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights to it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law. We do not routinely monitor private content; where we have the ability (for example, in any community or shared feature we may offer), we may remove content that violates these Terms. Keep your own backups of anything important to you.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • violate any law or the rights of others, or post content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or hateful;
  • impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • upload viruses or malicious code, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or another user’s account;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure, or abuse free-tier limits; or
  • use the Service for a commercial purpose without our permission.

If we make community or social features available, additional content standards and guidelines may apply and will be enforced.

11. Prayer Gate and device permissions

Prayer Gate is an optional tool that, with your permission (usage access on Android, or Screen Time on iOS), invites you to pray before opening apps you choose. It uses these permissions only to show the prayer prompt and never reads what you do in other apps. You choose and configure which apps to include. Prayer Gate is a devotional aid; we do not guarantee that it will intercept every app or prevent all access, and it is not a security or parental-control product.

12. Intellectual property

The Service, including the App software, its design, the “Sacred” name and logo, and our original content, is owned by Church Cloud or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Many hymn texts and tunes are in the public domain; others are used under license or permission from their rights holders. Every effort has been made to contact the copyright holders of the compositions in some of the hymnals that are not in the public domain; if you are aware of any errors or omissions, please contact us at contact@getsacred.app so we can correct them. Your license to view and use hymn content is limited to personal devotional use within the App and transfers no ownership and no right to redistribute. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation or compensation to you.

13. Copyright complaints

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content in the Service infringes your copyright, email contact@getsacred.app with: identification of the copyrighted work; identification of the material and where it appears; your contact information; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; a statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act; and your signature. We respond to valid notices and may remove the material in question.

14. Third-party services and app stores

The Service relies on third parties — including Apple, Google, Firebase, Google AdMob, and DigitalOcean — and your use of the Service is also subject to their applicable terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, content, or advertisements. The App stores are not parties to these Terms, except as stated in Section 18.

15. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that hymn texts, translations, or other content are complete or accurate.

Sacred provides hymns and devotional material for personal worship and reflection. It is not professional, medical, legal, or mental-health advice. If you are in crisis or need help, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

16. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHURCH CLOUD TECHNOLOGIES LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US (OR THROUGH THE APP STORES FOR THE APP) IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Church Cloud and its owners, employees, and suppliers from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms, any law, or any third-party right.

18. Apple App Store (EULA terms)

These Terms are between you and Church Cloud Technologies LLC only, and not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). If you obtained the App through the App Store, the following also apply:

  • Maintenance and support. Church Cloud, not Apple, is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App; Apple has no obligation to do so.
  • Scope of license. Your license to use the App is limited to a non-transferable license to use it on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (subject to family sharing where allowed).
  • Warranty. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any) for the App; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App. Any other claims are Church Cloud’s responsibility.
  • Product claims. Church Cloud, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product-liability, legal or regulatory, and consumer-protection claims.
  • Intellectual property. If a third party claims the App infringes its intellectual property rights, Church Cloud, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
  • Legal compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting,” and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Developer contact. Questions, complaints, or claims about the App should be directed to Church Cloud Technologies LLC, 1910 Pacific Ave, Suite 2000 - 1998, Dallas, TX 75201, at contact@getsacred.app.
  • Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App.
  • Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.

19. Google Play

If you obtained the App through Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

20. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account through the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate your access for conduct that violates these Terms or that is harmful to other users, to us, or to third parties, or as required for legal or security reasons. On termination, your license to use the App ends and you should uninstall it. Sections that by their nature should survive — including Sections 9 and 12 through 21 — survive termination. Deleting the App or your account does not cancel a subscription; see Section 7.

21. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing anything, you agree to try to resolve the dispute with us informally first: email contact@getsacred.app describing the issue, and we will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days. If we cannot, the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware will have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to venue and personal jurisdiction there — except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. These provisions do not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law rights in your country of residence.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes, we will post the updated Terms here and in the App and update the “Last updated” date, and, where appropriate, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.

23. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Church Cloud about the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Section headings are for convenience only.
