Use Sacred offline

How Sacred keeps your hymns, journal, and notes available with no internet connection.

Updated October 20, 2026

Some of the most meaningful moments of worship happen where the signal is worst — a church basement, a flight, a quiet retreat. Sacred is built to work offline.

What works without a connection

Once a hymnal is on your device, you can read hymns, search, play tunes, mark favorites, write journal entries, take notes, and track prayers — all with no internet connection. Everything is stored locally and opens instantly.

Downloading for offline use

Sacred Songs & Solos is already on your device the first time you open the app — no account, no connection needed. To add more collections:

  1. Open Hymnals.
  2. Choose a collection from the catalog and tap Download. Downloading from the catalog needs a free account, so you’ll be asked to sign in the first time.
  3. Once it finishes, the hymnal is available anytime, even in airplane mode.

When you reconnect

Anything you create offline — favorites, journal entries, notes, prayers — is saved on your device immediately and is never lost while you’re away from a connection. With Sacred Premium, those changes also sync to your other devices automatically the next time you’re online.
